Screws stay local: Digi-Key has no steel M3 × 30 in small quantities (only nylon or 2,000+ Marketplace lots; checked 2026-10-14), and the wood, shim, plate and pin need a hardware-store trip anyway. M3 × 25 (Keystone 29318) and M3 nuts (Keystone 4708) are sold singly, but splitting the set saves no trip. The wiring is all in the Digi-Key cart below.

The 30 V motor line and the weights (to order)

Lab dual-output supply: CH2 30 V for the motor line, CH1 24 V / 0.1 A for the BOB's fan (the Nucleo runs on USB). No E-stop button and no relay: the supply's output button is the stop (keep it within reach), and CH2's 3 A limit is the first fuse.

No reichelt order and no 10 A bench fuse: the BOB runs on the 3 A fuse in Order 2b.

Why two kinds of capacitor: these 2 × 2200 µF on the rail soak up the energy a falling or braking column pushes back (drop and power-cut tests); the small 100 µF in the dev kit list sits right at the BOB's supply pins to keep its switching clean (the BOB has none fitted). Both are needed. The E-stop and relay are in Order 3.

Order 2: Joerg's 3x3 (to order)

Nine columns at 48 mm pitch on one NUCLEO-G474RE, one SPI bus per row of three. It tests the Tile-20's 3-bus layout before any board is drawn. It is a separate rig with its own protection: 10 A main fuse, 2 × 2200 µF, a 33 V shunt, one fused branch per row, and a wired E-stop (relay cuts the 30 V feed; the second contact goes to PA0). Wiring, perfboards and first steps are in the bench guide (Joerg's 3x3 section). The frame, couplers, bearings and caps are Joerg's mechanical design and are not on this list.
