Column modules in 3D

Joerg's 3x3 (Order 2) and a 4x5 module (one Tile-20's footprint), built from the parts on the parts list and wired as in the bench guide; the 4x5 tabs follow the electronics plan. Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, right-drag to pan. Heights are in millimetres from the base, with the column jig's stack: motor face z 77, coupler z 94–119, KFL08 on z 136. The frame, nut blocks, column tubes and caps are illustrative: Joerg's CAD decides them. The click-in tab uses the real Tile-20, backplane, encoder and row-head boards (KiCad, hardware/tile20) at the heights of Joerg's CAD. The 3x3 · production boards tab is Joerg's variant A: his M1 tile on a foot plate with the Tile-20 under the motors, plugged onto a bench dock, drawn simplified from his CAD after his PR #34 (2026-10-17). His repo (Joerg-ffs/stawamus) is the master for every mechanical part; the boards are ours. See also the 3x3 kit page.

Same parts, just more of them? For the 3x3, yes: nine of the jig's motor, screw, coupler, KFL08, TBMA732 and TMC5240-BOB, plus Order 2's fuses, capacitors, shunt, relay and E-stop. For a 4x5, the mechanics scale the same way (20 of each), but two parts stop: Digi-Key's TBMA732 stock is already one short for Orders 1 + 2, and a 76 mm board can't point outward from the six inner columns; about 14 BOBs are left after Orders 1 + 2. The 4x5 needs the production MT6826S encoder board, and production swaps the BOBs for one Tile-20 board.
